Two free Chrome extensions that will save you from crashes

Reliable but not perfect

In tests, it has been repeatedly proven by analysts that the best performing web browser is the Google Chrome browser, and add to that, the Chrome Web Store has endless third party apps and extensions that make the browser even more useful. It is no wonder why Chrome is quickly rising in popularity.

The browser is the best and it his fast, it is reliable and some will tell you that it never crashes, but the dirty truth is that it does crash from time to time. Don’t be shocked, there is a common reason that Chrome crashes and it’s almost exclusively related to Adobe Flash which is notorious for crashing any browser.

The proactive method

There are two ways to save yourself from crashes – proactive and reactive. The proactive method is the Flash Control Chrome Browser Extension which is like AdBlock but for Flash as it prevents Chrome from automatically starting Flash Player, improves security, and gives you control over whether or not you allow Flash to play, thus proactively controlling your browsing experience and minimizing potential crashes.

The reactive method

The reactive method for those who simply want to avoid losing their 30 open tabs (admit it, you have 12 open right now, don’t you?) is the Panic Button Chrome Browser Extension which lets you save all bookmarks in a separate folder. The PanicButton on the top right of your browser will turn green when the tabs are hidden/saved and you can click the button to restore the tabs. This is the reactive method that allows you to quickly save what you’re doing before closing your crashing browser.

With these two Chrome extensions, you’ll vastly improve your browsing experience and give yourself control over any potential crashes caused by Flash, the number one culprit of Google Chrome crashes.
