Viddme: upload videos in one anonymous step

Enter Vidmee for some quick anonymity

Viddme delivers a service similar to the popular Imgur, a service that developed around being a place to anonymously share photos. But Imgur has yet to take the leap into video, despite the demand and this is where Viddme comes in.

You can drag and drop your videos on to the web platform for an instant upload, without signing up for anything. From the mobile apps, a few quick taps and you will be able to upload any of your videos. You can also upload GIFs from your hard drive or paste a link. Animated GIFs are converted into videos of the same quality but 1/16th the file size for faster loading, the developers say.

Why is the platform so appealing?

Anonymity is the primary attraction to this platform because it frees users to post videos about how to jailbreak their phones, hack into servers, or accessing restricted level on gaming platforms. More than this though, it allows users the freedom to post what they want, when they want, without it linking back to them.

After the video is uploaded, you can share it to social networks, post to Reddit, or just grab a link which you can share elsewhere as you choose. Currently there are not many restrictions as to what you can post; mostly it is common sense: they ask that you be over the age of thirteen and “obey the law.”

Why the timing is perfect

This is especially advantageous in light of the recent YouTube change, whereby all users are being required to authenticate their identity via a merger with Google+. According to the developers, Viddme will never force you to register, however, if you are using it via a mobile device, the company will be able to associate a device with the videos you upload, so you can access them later, if you choose.

They have discussed adding an optional user account feature later, so you can manage your videos, but they would not be associated with your real name, unlike YouTube.

You can upload videos via the web and your iOS or Android devices.
