Modern sustainable design
We use the word “green design” a lot in the real estate and design worlds, but architectural historian and designer, Rachel Preston Prinz who heads the Archinia architectural cooperative that combines the industry’s top archaeology, design and landscape minds under Prinz’s leadership.
In a very recent TEDx talk, Prinz talks about her work which ranges from ancient European villas to New Mexico’s religious traditions which combined intrigue Prinz to consider how today’s green design compares to archaeological feats of the ancient past and what lessons ancient building forms are teaching today’s designers.
By better understanding the past building methods that existed before a carbon footprint was a defined concept can help bring to bear ancient methods in a modern way to make green design truly sustainable. We encourage you to take less than ten minutes to listen to Prinz’s TEDx talk above.
