WhereTo streamlines scheduling and dispatching for your small business

Reducing scheduling headaches

If you’re in the business of scheduling deliveries and errands for your small business’ employees, it can be a bit of a pain to schedule the day’s activities. If plans have to change mid-day? Forget about it, the schedule gets thrown out of line. WhereTo wants to make all of this less of a headache.

Adjust and re-adjust as needed

This recently launched online software captures information on transportation-related jobs and allows you to run reports based on that data. This data includes job date, team member on the job, start and end times, and vehicle used for the job.

Users can generate custom reporting to study things like time spent on tasks per employee, average length of tasks, and number of tasks by vehicle, among others.

WhereTo also generates daily and weekly schedules automatically, freeing up hours normally spent manually circulating schedules (up to 10 hours a week, according to the site). Furthermore, the automated notification system can alert employees to further instructions for current and upcoming jobs. This could help alert drivers to changes of destination, or changes in instructions once the employee arrives to the job. Because the site is mobile-friendly and fully integrated into phones through the SMS alerts system, scheduling managers can easily adjust to changes on the fly.

Custom pricing

One possible point of contention is their pricing model. It’s completely custom. Not unheard of if you’re someone like Adobe, but for a smaller tool like this one? It’s a bit strange. You also don’t get the sense that the features on the tool change as prices go up. Meaning, this custom pricing model looks a lot more like a pay-per-user model. Either way, if the tool is targeted towards more blue-collar industries (and even certain white-collar ones too), that could turn off folks who want a simple answer without having to put much time or thought into it.

When compared to other solutions, WhereTo keeps it fairly simple compared to other schedule dispatching solutions. Software like mHelpDesk, FieldAware and Service Fusion integrate lead generation and invoice processing. These bigger programs also provide other dispatching functions, such as route optimization and a smart scheduler to pair specific employees with specific jobs

All that being said, WhereTo provides a way to integrate a lot of data around field jobs in one place, and it can save you plenty of time by automating the scheduling and dispatching process.
