Young business leader doing big things: Jeet Banerjee

Business leader showcase: a 20 year old on a mission

What were you doing at age 20? Did it involve booze and aimlessness, or perhaps on finding a spouse to start a family with, or working at the bottom of the ladder with big dreams? Jeet Banerjee is a 20 year old who is not only handling college, but sold his first startup three years ago and is already a published author, and co-founder of StatFuse, which helps ease the stress of college admissions for parents, students, and counselors. His current company launched last year in beta and “blew up,” he says, adding 12,000 users in its first few weeks.

As a means of improving each of our own professional paths, current business leaders of all ages and stations serve as inspiration. Banerjee’s interview below, in his own words, is fascinating.

Tell us about yourself and your work.

I’m a 20 year old serial entrepreneur, digital marketing consultant, speaker, author, and college student. I created and sold my first startup at the age of 17 and since then have created numerous web applications that solve problems. I also recently published my second book “The Pursuit of Passion: Entrepreneurs Guide to Turn Hobbies Into Successful Businesses”, which helps innovators turn their ideas and hobbies into income.

Walk us through a typical day in your life.

6 AM – Wake up, check emails.
7 AM to 10 AM- Get breakfast, do business with the East coast.
10 AM – 6 PM – Meetings, work, servicing clients, etc.
6 PM – 7 PM – Gym
7 PM – 8 PM – Dinner
8 PM – 12 AM – Check emails, work with off shore development team, and relax.

Where were you raised? Where all have you lived?

Born and raised my whole life in Orange County, California.

How did you get into your current career?

Was sick of working a typical job at my fathers company and decided to explore my own opportunities. I was looking for a quick way to make some money each month to have a good time and I quickly found out about entrepreneurship. From there, I loved what I was doing and decided to fully pursue entrepreneurship.
