Property managers taking advantage of the web
There are a variety of tools that are already being used for property management and marketing, but how many can claim they are free to landlords? Web application Zakits.com can, they only charge applicants a processing fee for applications submitted and that’s it, there are no other fees. Their competitors require monthly payments and various fees at different steps of the process, but Zakits stands out because they only get paid if their product works (much like a real estate professional).
Zakits rental applications are customizable and the default application allows property managers to add or remove questions. They have integrated PayPal, so fees can be collected through their simple platform and they don’t charge additional fees for payment processing (although PayPal typically does). What we like is that the app offers 250MB of free storage space for documents as well as property photos so that everything is in one spot and accessible from any computer for when a property manager needs to publish a Craigslist ad on the fly, for example.
Most of the features mentioned so far sound like they best benefit the real estate agent managing a handful of properties or for a newly/accidental property manager, especially because of the price, but for multi-family companies looking to reduce their overhead, coming soon is a white label version of Zakits with complete customization.
Their tagline is “Get It Rented!” and with lease applications and processing and templates for online advertising (Craigslist, blogs, etc.), this free tool could be extremely useful for the property management field.
