If you can use PowerPoint, you can do this- simply create a PowerPoint presentation, download the PowerPoint to Video Converter and follow the steps to turn your PowerPoint into a video that you can upload to the web.
The free trial is fairly easy to use, but it does require some time input (it’s not a magic “push here” button). After creating a video, users can then upload to YouTube or other video sites for an embed code to use on their own website or blog.
Ideas for use:
We’ve talked for years about video in real estate and many of you are like me- camera shy. I’m not a shy person, I just don’t like the way I sound on film or that it adds ten pounds!
For a Realtor, creating a PowerPoint presentation then converting it is simple for:
- An embeddable listing presentation with voice/music behind it. Putting your value proposition front and center is important.
- Put together pictures of the neighborhood or subdivision you specialize in and put in the sidebar of your blog or in a blog article.
- Think behind the scenes- do a presentation about you personally to show the human side of you. Share the video on your social networks, especially Facebook.
- For individual listings, this is a super easy way to profile a property. Consider including more than property shots- area amenities, local utilities, true stories about the area, etc.
Quick tips
Before you get started or become an expert on this topic, study the aesthetics of presentation design (my favorite theory is Presentation Zen).
- Keep images simple, no clip art shall be used. Ever. I mean it. Visit sxc.hu for high quality royalty free stock art.
- Consider putting your logo in the bottom corner of every slide but keep it relatively small and if it’s obnoxious, go black and white with it.
- Keep a consistent color theme in all slides, don’t confuse viewers with rainbow backgrounds.
- Keep the font pretty big and words limited (illustrate via photo)- remember that you’ll have a video embedded and seen on a phone or at a very small ratio.
When you get pretty good at it, you’ll realize the time investment it takes and you’ll probably end up hiring someone, but this converter is a great tool for the DIYers out there!
