Although BASHH has been around for 17 years, every single month, we meet new attendees. It’s one of the only tech networking events that continues to attract new folks to mix with folks who have been going for years – it’s certainly not stale, and I love that!
If you’re searching for the best tech networking event in Austin, don’t expect BASHH to follow the usual rules – that’s exactly why it WORKS.
What does happen from time to time is that someone hears about the event through one of our online communities (like ADJ or RDJ) and doesn’t read any of the ticketing page or do any research. That’s fine, we all get excited and jump in the car sometimes, but when someone rolls up and expects booths of employers with tablecloths and swag and jobs to hand out left and right? That’s disappointing.
We put in a ton of work before each event to make sure people know BASHH is Austin’s favorite tech and marcom networking spot, but for those that miss out on that, it’s still turns out to be an awesome event for anyone that shows up.
It just isn’t one of those awkward “career events” where people shuffle around with résumés in hand and rehearse elevator pitches they found on LinkedIn. BASHH was built to be the anti of that. It’s louder. It’s loose. It’s filled with actual humans. And yes – some of those humans happen to be hiring managers, project leads, or decision-makers… but you won’t know that until you’ve already talked about your dog or your weird hobby or the fact that some of us are purposely polite to our AI assistants.
Here’s the thing – when you remove the pressure of a job hunt, people get real. Conversations flow more easily. Ideas get tossed around. Collaborations spark. We’ve had new companies born, creative partnerships form, promotions whispered over a beer – and it all happens naturally, without the soul-sucking career fair vibes.
And yeah, while some people walk out with new friends or a killer idea, others walk out with the email address of the person who’ll become their next boss, investor, or ride-or-die teammate. That’s not because they came looking for it. It’s because they showed up, open to the casual nature of organic networking.
We’re not saying you’ll get hired at BASHH. We’re just saying we see it happen in the most organic of ways – all the time.
🗓 The next BASHH is April 15th at The Brewtorium in Austin.
VPs, Founders, CMOs – this room is full of the people you’ll want on your radar. Don’t send your interns, dummy, come mingle with the humans actually moving the needle.

OMG…I thought BASHH was a speed dating event. Oooofff…ok now it makes sense, why everyone was so hostile to me last time I went.

You deserved every ounce of that hostility, JAY.
