The theme that keeps swimming in my head from BarCamp and Inman SF is that this is still a face-to-face business. In order to build our businesses we have to build our relationships – both in quality and in number. Nobody cares – especially the consumer – that you won the Best Realtor in the Universe Award. Image advertising has been caught in the net and filleted.

Old-Fashioned Wisdom

Even at a technology conference, it was a common theme to hear speakers remind us to Back Away From The Computer!

Cast Your Line

This isn’t meant to be a complete list. Just a few ideas that were floating around.

[Flickr] Thanks to Teresa Boardman for her impromptu class at BarCamp in the ways of Flickr. If you enjoy photography: Get involved. Get out. Meet people.

[Twitter] I can’t trace this one back to one person, but link to local folks. Get involved. Get out. Meet people.

[Social Media Club] Lani has mentioned these guys in the past. No group near you? Create one.

[Meet Up] With over 45,000 groups you’ll be able to find something to do with someone you like.

[BNI] Your local group already have a Realtor? What else is new. Start a new group.

[EWomenNetwork] Network, promote and learn.
