Hitting the highest peak in America for charity
Century 21 President and CEO, Rick Davidson has been climbing for 17 years and is now turning his attention to his next big climb from July 2nd to July 11th where he will lead a team of five in Alaska at Mount McKinley, America’s highest mountain peak.
For this particular climb, the team will be raising funds for Easter Seals, a non profit organization that helps children with autism, development disabilities, physical disabilities and other special needs. Century 21 has donated over $100 million to the Easter Seals over the last three decades and seek to raise $30,000 during this “Climb for Kids” as the team is raising $1 for each foot of elevation.
“CENTURY 21’s ongoing commitment to the community and our sole philanthropic partner is as strong as ever,” said Rick Davidson. “The Climb for Kids is meant to help continue this incredible legacy of giving to such a fine and deserving organization. Let’s help kids reach their own personal summits and live their lives with independence.”
The Climb for Kids journey will begin in Anchorage, Alaska, on July 2; then the team will head north to Talkeetna and ascend to the summits of Mt. Eldridge and Explorers Peak. A third summit will be determined based on weather conditions and access from the Eldridge Glacier. The catch phrase we are seeing tossed around over email regarding the trek is that “this climb will take the global real estate leader to new heights in helping the organization… literally.”
The CENTURY 21 Climb for Kids team includes:
- Scott Becker, CENTURY 21 New Millennium
- Greg Cornelius, CENTURY 21 NorthBay Alliance
- Dennis Pysz, CENTURY 21 South America
- Robert Struk, CENTURY 21 Curran & Christie
- Rick Davidson, CENTURY 21 President and CEO
We see a lot of fundraising efforts from the real estate community as a whole, but this is probably the biggest and most creative endeavors we’ve seen this year.
