Please pay it forward! We’re asking you to be a monthly contributor to help us keep this boat* afloat! There are typically four types who want to give back to ADJ:
- you’ve found a great job through our rowdy group
- are an employer who uses our free resources to find talent
- you’ve benefited from resume help, free interview prep, or you genuinely appreciate the community
- we’ve made an investment in your career and you want to pay it forward
Regardless of your motivation, the community needs your help. Many job seekers will start contributing once they’ve found their next job in order to pay it forward. Employers that don’t yet have the budget to be involved in offline events can contribute to keep us from having to charge to post. We’re not trying to get rich off of this boat*, just aiming to keep the lights on for you!
We appreciate you selecting a plan that fits your budget so we can keep sailing along:
Remember – in just one quarter, here’s what community members get at ADJ (and why people contribute):
- Employers post jobs for free
- Free laser-focused career advice
- A massive offline recruiting mixer (free resume reviews, free headshots, tons of employers)
- Three offline networking events
- Three featured members (ADJer of the Month)
- Weekly video pep talks from fellow members
- Weekly member networking roundup opportunities
- Free mentorship program
- And more
Paying it forward ensures that the next members get these same opportunities (and people don’t ditch Austin for Silicon Valley)!
*The boat theme is an inside joke amidst ADJ members.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I contribute?
Austin Digital Jobs is the only place in town where tech talent gathers, long after they’ve found their next job. ADJ celebrates the tremendous expertise where we’re headquartered and boasts over 43,000 members since it was founded in 2011. We’re devoted to keeping people in Austin and attracting new brands – letting our hair down while we do it. We host a free quarterly mixer for Austin’s most popular employers to meet highly qualified, eager talent, as well as monthly networking events to keep the wind in our sails.
ADJ is not a recruiter’s website and we do not profit in any way when someone is hired through our group, and they are not charged to post job listings. It is a product of The American Genius, which offers a strong news voice in the entrepreneur and tech world, offering meaningful, concise insight into emerging technologies, the digital economy, best practices, and a shifting business culture. ADJ is our love letter to the Austin tech community, to which we are deeply devoted.
Since we’re all friends here, I’ll confide in you that the fees employers pay to be at our events doesn’t even come close to covering what it costs to run ADJ. So, we’re asking for your help in order to keep our events and group free to all members.
How do you protect my privacy?
We take your privacy seriously – we do not store any financial information and will never sell your information to a third party. Please note, that PayPal has its own rules separate from ours.
Can I contribute a different amount or more/less frequently?
Want to contribute more? Tell us what’s on your mind! Hoping to contribute once instead of monthly? Click the “other” button in the pricing list, and type in the amount you’re comfortable with.
Can I write this contribution off on my taxes?
So sorry – much like our love for you, contributions are not tax deductible as we are not registered as a 501(c)(3), but if that changes, we’ll let you know.
Are there refunds? Can I cancel?
Yes, you are free to cancel your monthly contribution at any time. No refunds will be issued once payment has been received.
Instead of giving money, how else can I contribute?
That’s a great question, and we have no judgment here. The best way you can contribute is to be involved! Share memes on the meme threads, introduce yourself in the weekly announcement post, and/or answer questions others have if it’s in your area of expertise. We want to see you at our events (and heck, maybe volunteer at the door for an hour if you’re into that sort of thing)! And of course, if ADJ helps you land your next role and money starts coming back in, please remember us and come back here, sailor!
This is fun, where can I ask more questions?
Hit up our contact page any time – there is (mostly) no such thing as a stupid question!
It will go straight to Lani Rosales, the “Evil Overlord” Admin at ADJ.
