An unlikely success
Sports apparel success, Under Armour was founded by Kevin Plank who created the company with $17,000 from a Valentine’s Day rose business he started in college (despite restrictions on student athletes against doing so). He built the company because of a basic need he had – better sports wear that would keep him dry as he explains in the video above that on the field, he sweat so much that it weighed down his clothing.
The inspirational story of the hard working man who hasn’t even hit his 40s yet that built an empire through hard work and aggressive strategies comes from his own mouth. Plank ended his interview with the sentiment on building a business that wants viewers to think, “If some football player from Maryland can do it, I could probably do it too.” No matter the economy, no matter how hard the venture, go for it!
