7-Eleven concept store is modern and surprisingly sexy

7-Eleven has unveiled a concept design in NYC that hints at an overhaul for the entire brand – and you’d be surprised at how beautiful a convenient store can be.

7-Eleven concept store is a massive update

A new 7-Eleven concept store in lower Manhattan marks a major potential turn not only in the offering of the chain store, but represents a potential massive update to their logo and branding, modernizing themselves into competition with the likes of grocers and coffee houses.

7-Eleven is the biggest convenience store chain in the world, with over 50k stores, 10,200 of which are in North America. This concept store designed by WD Partners and new logo marks a substantial change for the brand.

WD Partners note that the refreshed look aims to “reposition and rejuvenate” the convenient stores to “better capture the millennial and female demographics” and better align them with the constantly changing customer base. There are rumors that New York City will get a handful of the new style of store, as will Chicago, but there are no plans in the work to replace all stores with the new design.

Some note that rethinking the store not only matches the needs of shoppers in urban as well as rural areas, but reaches a new consumer that traditionally would not consider spending time inside of a convenient store as they would a coffee shop – the concept store even offers free wifi to keep people hanging around.

Taking advantage of modern trends of flat design, chalk art, and minimalism, the store is right on the money for what’s next, and for consumers’ sake, we hope this design eventually replaces the old and tired albeit traditionally clean stores.
