Find just one family in your local market facing foreclosure and help them reach out to their lender and hopefully negotiate a resolution. This was the rallying call by Alex Perriello, CEO of Realogy at the Rismedia PowerBroker Dinner in Orlando during the NAR Meetings. I was moved by his call to arms of not just his 300,000 agents in the Realogy system, but every REALTOR out there all one million. He noted, that we have both an opportunity and an obligation to help our neighbors and our local communities by trying to prevent as many foreclosures from occurring as possible.”
And then I met Cathy McDaniels. Cathy is a real estate educator in the Georgia Area. As a result of the mortgage debacle over the last few years, Cathy has written a book called “A Road Map to Saving your Home,” a comprehensive guide for foreclosure intervention and prevention. It is a great tool for all real estate and mortgage professionals as well as the local homeowner for foreclosure prevention. Cathy was homeless at one time and has a wonderful story to tell. This is her way of giving back.
