Freelancer productivity is a huge challenge
Freelancers are required to have an array of talents. First of all, you have to be disciplined and a self-starter. You need cognizant of time-management and keep yourself on track.
Equally as important, you need to be organized. This is crucial if you ever hope to be productive.
Freelancers have so much to organize, from calendars to client information and income tracking. Understandably, it may be difficult to find a way to keep all of this important info in one place. Luckily, Austinite Michelle Nikolaisen has you covered.
Introducing the Freelance Planner
Nikolaisen has developed a planner specifically designed for freelancers. The Freelancer Planner was created to “get your business back in order, track everything in one spot, stress less, [and] earn more” according to an informational video on the planner’s Kickstarter page.
The planner is perfect to use at anytime, as the pages are undated and can be filled in by the user. The idea is to keep everything in your freelancing world as visual as possible so that nothing is overlooked.
Included is a calendar and pages to track income. You are able to fill in priorities and tasks for each week so that you keep yourself in line as to what is most important for your clients that week. Pages also include spaces to write work goals, income goals, events for the month, upcoming projects, and a notes section.
When can you get your own planner?
The Freelancer Planner’s Kickstarter page is designed to fund the project. Anyone that donates and “backs” the project, will first receive a planner. Nikolaisen will be first starting off with 250 planners that will be printed by a sustainable printing company in Austin.
The planners will also be sold on Nikolaisen’s website as well as Amazon. Freelancers can also download the planner as a document and print it at home. If purchased and not downloaded, the planner comes in an 8.5”x10” spiral-bound notebook.
Nikolaisen explains that with this planner, you are able to better hone in on what works best for you as a freelancer. You have the option to track income versus work hours, and she states that she learned that work hours are better for her to track.
