The eWarrior challenge
The ‘e’ has been used to represent the entrepreneur starting with the book The eMyth. After having spent most of my career figuring out what entrepreneurship is even all about and accepting the fact I am one, the term Warrior seems more fitting… as it is a war within ourselves for some.
Think about it – entrepreneurs are breaking new ground, updating old ideas, and charting territory where no one has yet set foot. How could this group of people not have to fight a battle at some point in the process, whether it be internal to keep up the motivation to push again tomorrow or the battle of society itself to see a new way of operating.
There are a million more battlegrounds in the world of creation and innovation, you may not wear a recognizable suit of armor, but you are an eWarrior!
The wisdom that comes from experience
The conflict that you will face is that of failure, and how you handle and process the experience decides your fate in the next level. There is no way out, and you don’t want a way out – you want the lesson, the wisdom that comes only from the experience.
Level One is that bright-eyed bushy-tailed person full of hopes and dreams. All of the other levels have hopes and dreams too, only now they have a better chance of becoming a reality because now there is a foundation of strength and experience that will open up more opportunity.
Remember your first bike? It was shiny and perfect, and you were really careful as you rode around the block… how could you ever truly experience riding a bike if you stayed at that level? Once the new wore off and you gained a few scratches, your eyes were open to a whole new world of opportunities… entrepreneurship is exactly the same, only our dents and scratches are gained from failures.
