Get paid to read your email? This could be the next big thing

email marketing

Email, email, everywhere

What if you could get paid for the spam that ends up in your email inbox? Ears perked right up, didn’t they? The days of spending hours unsubscribing to obnoxious promotional emails that you never even signed up for could soon be behind you, thanks to Write.io.

The process is pretty simple. You go to their website to create your name@wrte.io address, which will be used as your public email. The incoming spam gets sent to your private email only after you have been paid.

Unanswered questions

Right off the bat, there are many questions, none of which are answered on their website. There are plenty of emails that come with stock messages like, “This is an automated email. This email address is not monitored and replies will not receive a response.” How will that get kicked back?

If a company is willing to go to such great lengths to pay you, you’d have to at least consider the value of the actual email. But are you required to read the email if the sender does end up paying? Exactly how much is expected of you here?

You receive your payment in bitcoin. Wrte.io will have account for you to store your payments and you can then transfer it to your bitcoin wallet. There is no information on the website as to how much these companies will be charged. Since bitcoin hasn’t exactly taken off everywhere yet, you have to wonder if this form of payment will limit enthusiasm.

End spam or set up an advice line, Write.io lets you do both

What about the little guy out there hustling, trying to promote and market a new product? Paying someone for a promotional email is probably not in the budget. With email being an important tool for content marketing, this could pose a problem for many.

Wrte.io could be a ground breaking tool that puts an end to annoying spam once and for all. The company is in beta so some of the details and kinks haven’t quite been ironed out yet. Sign up now and you might get the opportunity to influence the end result.
