Lifebook is a laptop, smartphone, tablet, camera combined

The Transformer of gadgets

Do you have a purse or man bag full of gadgets? Your laptop, your iPhone, your camera, cords and chargers for each, and accessories to go with them? Designer Prashant Chandra has created a gadget concept that combines all of these devices into one, but with a twist – they each come apart to function separately. Yanko Design notes that Steve Jobs once said that people don’t know what they until you show it to them, adding that “this is probably why we have independent gadgets now vying for integration with features of mainstream products.”

Chandra’s Lifebook concept is based on the principle of shared hardware to eliminate repeat storage data, so that photos saved on the smartphone are saved across all devices in one memory block rather than separate chunks of memory on each device and the same with sharing a processor. We liken the concept to a Transformer, or an Optimus Prime, if you will.

All devices that come together to form the Lifebook have one single charger which helps reduce the clutter of tangled cords, and everything syncs simultaneously. It is an amazing concept that could be snatched up by a manufacturer like Apple, but will more likely be seen by manufacturers like HP that are looking to serve the early adopter crowd as they struggle to dominate any demographic.
