Rapid progress
Technologists have mastered smartphones, tablets and touch technology, but Samsung takes it a step further and turns your windows into a giant touchscreen computer. The window is transparent just like any other window, but with the one-way viewing technology, people inside a home or office can use the window to use the web, access Twitter, check the weather, or perform other tasks we have become accustomed to on tablets and smartphones, meanwhile people outside can only see the person inside swiping at a blank window. That should be interesting.
As mentioned in the video above, Samsung is bringing technology to life as seen in Tom Cruise’s “Minority Report” blockbuster and the idea of computing on glass surfaces could theoretically be used in a car as a dashboard, or at home and the office as a large computer screen for use or demonstrative purposes. The Smart Window is also solar powered, taking advantage of the green energy trend, making it really smart.
The most amazing news of all is that Samsung anticipates beginning production this year which to us is far more exciting than any 3D television technology! Add streaming web videos and movies to the Smart Window and could our windows be our next television sets? Could the be in our offices as our next giant computer screens? Forget your 23″ screen, next up is a 100″ screen!
