Have you ever been in an accident on a property, spent time cleaning out bank owned properties, or had other general safety concerns? Vancouver based startup, MyMoby.com is an application that allows you to report where you are and alerts your personal contacts when you have not reported back into the system.
Some of the horror stories we heard last night from Conal Campbell and Rob Goehring of MyMoby were pretty heart wrenching. Examples of sudden heart attack victims and even a Realtor who fell from a second story in a new construction home could have benefited from such a service, Conal said.
Interestingly enough, in the past several years as the market turned south here in America, we reported on several attacks and even murders of Realtors around the country. Although MyMoby’s application may not directly have saved those lives, one wonders if MyMoby could act as a deterrent to such attacks.
We met up with the guys from MyMoby last night and learned that they had just become a KW authorized vendor, and have several other deals in the works already as their product makes the turn from beta to open market. Currently, MyMoby is available on the Blackberry and will soon offer service via the iPhone and Android.
One of the coolest things about this application is that it is not a data capture app. No one sees your schedule unless something happens to you, and according to Conal, your GPS location is not given to anyone but the emergency contacts on your list.
According to Rob, MyMoby is not just real estate-centric, it’s a consumer safety device that will inevitably be launched across a wide variety of industries including direct to the consumer market. Â The product is still in consumer testing; consider myMoby an in-process application that will continue to encompass consumer driven needs.
