What makes a visionary?
What sets you in motion to get up in the morning and do your job? Do you love what you do? Do you have that fiery passion that guns for you, even in the moments right before you’re about to fall asleep, flooding you with thousands of ideas and light-bulb moments that spring you up and bring you back to productivity, even with it’s time to stop and rest? This weekend, I heard someone say, “people who are visionaries get exhausted- but keep going, going, going.” This resonated with me.
Why is this? Why do those of us who keep the drive, and that burning desire to better the industry keep on going? It is this devotion to our work, our clients, our trade that brings us creativity, growth and focus. Are you excited on a daily basis by your work? Are you your own visionary or do you at least have someone that fits the bill that you can look to for industry insight? How can you maximize your potential to become your own visionary leader in real estate? If you see a passion in a person that is willing to grow the industry and push the envelope every once in a while, maybe that person is your leader and they don’t even know it.

- Facilitator
- Strong
- Eager
- Producer
- Conscientious
Looking to yourself
Even if you haven’t yet decided that you are one of the folks who are going to pull forward in the real estate industry and set yourself apart, there is still time. On the other end of the spectrum, you might be one of the amazingly talented agents out there who do holistically embody a visionary in the industry. Become your own leader and find your drive, passion on a daily basis. Remember why you do what you do- because you love it. When you rise to your own potential, people will acknowledge it and it will shine through in everything that you do.
So many of us have just ourselves to depend on, not a fully backed team, that we have to purely rely on our own motivation and passion for our work. I’m no Energizer-Bunny, that’s for darn sure, but sometimes I find that I am still working at 1:30am because I got so amped about an project, or idea for a client that I just run with it… Energizer-Bunny-Style. I can look to my own mentors in the industry, or I can look to myself. Each of us can.
