Dorothy Was Too

I’m an eternal optimist – an optimist-optimist, I think it’s called in physco babble.  I’ve been called Pollyanna, which I know isn’t a compliment.  But I know everything’s going to be all right.  How do I know this?  Because it always is.  Yes, things suck.  I’m not standing in my gold plated Donald Trump-esc living room saying,  “Oh, you silly little people.”

Think Boob

But I’ve been through a lot worse – and I mean a lot worse.  And so have you.  We all have.  My friend Kacy and I laugh about whose life is worse.  I realize we both have a totally sick sense of humor, but it’s pretty dang funny.  We each must think our lives really aren’t that bad.  Hmm.

I think her life is in utter and complete turmoil.  She thinks mine is.  Wait a minute.  Isn’t the grass always greener on the other side?  There’s something wrong with this story…

Blah Blah Blah

At any rate, you know the statistics, the history of real estate and the stock market.  It’ll all come back.  Those fence-sitters who are waiting for the market to bottom will all start buying after the market starts to rise.  They always do.

What About The Meantime?

Eat ice cream, work harder or get a job.  Or eat ice cream, work harder and get a job.  In other words, make the best of it.  You can’t change it.  I can’t compete against CNN and neither can you.  Most people have short-term memories.

I don’t understand why they can’t remember when interest rates were 18% – that today’s rates are low.  I can’t figure out how they can know the first house their parents bought is worth a gazzilion dollars more than they paid for it but they still believe this is the end of it all.

I don’t understand why they don’t understand.  But it doesn’t matter.  Let’s get on with the business – the business of real estate.  My mint chip is melting.
