For years, the cell phone darling has been iPhone, but between February and May of this year, the market share of all smartphone platforms (including Apple) declined. All platforms but Google, that is, which rose 4%.
According to ComScore:

For any marketer (real estate or otherwise) to remain relevant, they must know the growing trends which we’ve seen most fail to do. The tech world continues to be Mac fanboys, yet consumers are slowly diversifying their choice in smartphones as shown by the last six months alone, and Google is coming out a clear winner.
Unfortunately, the applications available for consumers to search real estate are quite limited. The app library has a variety of obscure local real estate search apps, but national brokers and search portals are surprisingly lacking as are quality calculators and the like.
Here are 13 real estate search applications for Android phones:
- Coldwell Banker
- Zillow Real Estate
- ZipRealty
- Idealista
- HotPads
- Real Estate by Smarter Agent
- Real Estate Droid (searches various sources)
- Apartment & house rental search
- Chicago Agent (gfe generator)
- Financial calculators
- Real Estate Dictionary
- Envoy (local info search- demographics, schools, etc)
Do you think the quest for all brokerages to be in all places at all times is unwise, or do you think it is worth the investment to be where consumers are trending?
