Let’s face it, we real estate agents are an extremely mobile bunch of professionals. It is difficult to manage the necessary business at hand, much less get our blogging done.
Lately I have been exploring voice to text options as a way of getting my writing done while I am on the road. With the loss of Jott as an option, I researched alternatives and discovered other applications that will provide the service that I was looking for.
What I wanted to accomplish was the ability to speak my posts, save them for later and then edit and clean up from my computer or even phone when stationary:
Here are some voice to text options:
#1- Vlingo
This voice to text option can text, email, find things on maps, search the web and voice dial.
I like the multiple options and it functions well, BUT…the email and SMS options are paid options, not free.
#2- Cinch.
OK, so this isn’t voice to text, BUT it is a great mobile blogging option. I use it to record things on the go that I know I am going to share later on my blog, or even instantly on Twitter or Facebook. It is super simple, embeddable and a great multi-media edition to your mobile blogging.
#3- Dragon Dictation.
Hands down my favorite mobile application of ALL. This application allows you to push a record button, speak your dictation (punctuation included) and then push it to text, email, Twitter, Facebook or copy and paste. Best part, it is reliable and FREE.
I use it in conjuction with another free mobile app, Evernote to complete the job I was looking to do. Here is what I do: open Dragon Dictation and speak a portion of a blog post (it will only record a limited amount). I hit the copy button and then paste that into an Evernote document. I repeat this process until I am done. Once stationary again, I open my Evernote document, make necessary edits and copy to my blog. Add a picture and VOILA! my post is done within very few minutes.
Dragon Dictation is a huge tool for me in texting and emailing while on the go, as well and for the low low price of FREE…well, it is worth checking out.
Are you using other mobile applications for voice to text? Do tell…
