Are The Lights On?
Last night I ran some errands for a ornament making party I’m having Thursday night. Off to Micheal’s I go. I get there and the whole place is dark. No lights in the parking lot. The Micheal’s sign is off. All the windows are dark – blocked with shelving. If it wasn’t just 5:30, I would have kept driving.
Is Anybody Home?
You’re having a hard time. I get it. Most of us are. But if you’re walking around with your sign off, you’re closed. Oh, but you want business?
Be Prepared
You know they’re going to ask. Everyone does, no matter the condition of the market. So be ready for the question: How’s the market? How are you doing?
Don’t Be A Marilyn
I do a lot of networking so I run into Marilyn all the time. Marilyn is a mortgage broker who, by her own admission, can’t get a loan done. What does she say when she sees me? “No matter what I do, I can’t get a loan through.” What does she say to potential clients, “No matter what I do, I can’t get a loan through.” Mutual client says to me, “Can she get a loan through?” My answer, “I don’t know but she’d better stop saying that.”
Put On A Happy Face
If your grumpy on the inside is showing on the outside, fake it. You might be surprised how well that works. They can’t tell and eventually you may not be able to either.
