Adios, DC
Real estate search site HotPads.com announced today that they are moving their headquarters from Washington D.C. to the Mission District of San Francisco.
HotPads recognizes the six years since they launched in D.C. as healthy, vibrant years but are enthusiastic about entering San Fran’s “respected developer community, immerse itself in the unique consumer web ecosystem, and collaborate more closely with other entrepreneurial ventures in the Bay Area.”
Their new 5,000sf digs will open mid-summer and they are currently hiring engineers and sales folks for the new headquarters.
When asked how they felt about being so geographically near one of their major competitors, Trulia.com, Douglas Pope, co-founder and COO said, “Part of the reason to move to San Francisco is to be around other consumer web companies – including both partners and competitors.”
