Make Your Site iPhone Friendly

Share

It’s not all about iPhones…

The advent of the iPhone has cemented the trend toward computing via cell phone creating a need for websites to prepare accordingly. Some websites are already iPhone friendly (and consequently in the mode of being friendly to future phones that are web-centric), while others are not, but guess what? It’s easy to prepare!

Two ways for iPhone-friendly-ization:

  • WordPress Plugin– if you have a WordPress site, WPTouch is a complimentary theme installed as a plugin on your WordPress blog that automatically formats your site for an iPhone or iTouch.
  • Intersquash.com allows you to simply go to their site, enter the RSS feed of your site, enter the site name, upload an icon and place the code provided between the header tags of your website. You don’t even have to have a wordpress blog!

See? It’s easy! Many sites are already iPhone-friendly in anticipation of the cell phone trend and it’s always a good idea to reach as many people as possible, even that dude on the BART tooling around on his phone, refusing to use his laptop anymore (he knows who he is, Andy).
