Email marketing just got a major makeover
New York startup, MovableInk received a round of funding of $1.3 million last month and are already changing the world of email marketing. Their new service offering is “Movable Ink Streaming Server” as demonstrated above which allows companies to stream live content into emails while they are open.
The service “could dynamically change emails after they have been sent out. The technology can change emails based on time of open, recipient’s current location, social cues, fast-moving inventory, and and more, and works across all email clients (Gmail, Outlook, iPhone, Yahoo, etc.),” said tech analyst Leena Rao.
Email marketing companies have long offered Adobe Flash ads inside of emails and animated gif advertising spots, but this service is different in that they don’t have to download any software (Flash) and doesn’t operate on old information, rather live, down to the millisecond information as demonstrated in the video above.
Marketers can send geo-targeted live content like listing prices of nearby homes based on the user’s IP address, or social proof of a social media consultant’s network embedded in the email, or live inventory levels for retailers or even time based offers that end and feature a countdown clock.
Moveable Ink just took interactive email marketing to a whole new level and we hope that you’re reading this before your competitor! What possibilities for this technology do you see?
