Google Analytics now offers live statistics – how to get early access

Google Real-Time Reports

Just like a cardiologist benefits from live heart monitoring over hourly tests, a website owner benefits from live metrics monitoring rather than learning of their site performance after the fact. To keep the heart beating on a successful website, the pace has increased dramatically just in the last two to three years with the advent of social networking thrown into the mix.

Google has announced that their free Google Analytics product will be introducing Real Time analytics the newest version which is currently in beta. Business owners relying on social networking campaigns can measure in real time what impact their tweeting, Facebooking or emailing is having on their site, and can see when the wave of reactions begins to die down, calling for another round. Live analytics can help website staff better understand the impact of their designated social media efforts like watching a thrown rock create ripples in a creek.

If you already use Google Analytics and want to access the newest version, either click here or some users will be able to log in to their Analytics account and click “New Version” at the top right, and if designated as an Administrator on the account, they will see Real Time reports in the Dashboards tab. Otherwise, the Real Time Analytics will be rolling out to the public in coming weeks, according to Google Analytics team member, John Jersin.

Some other stats reporting tools both free and paid offer live analytics, but the benefit Google offers is typically easier to read and understand data graphing which will appeal to the business owner in a hurry that doesn’t need a learning curve to overcome.
