Rethinking micro storage cards
MicroSD cards have given camera and smartphones the ability to hold more data without the need to constantly dump your images and data on to something else. Now, just in tie for the launch of the Galaxy S5, SanDisk has released a 128GB microSDXC card. 128GB on a tiny microSD card is almost unthinkable, but a welcome development. Since it is a modern chip, it allows ultrafast reading and writing speeds. Whether you are using it with your camera or smartphone, this allows you to record and play high-resolution videos saved on the card, quickly.
Then can also lend some serious storage to microSD tablet users. You no longer need to worry how many songs, pictures, and apps you have; you can carry them all with you on the new microSDXC card.
It also has some nice features. It is water-proof, temperature-proof, X-ray and magnet-proof, and shock-proof; this is superbly helpful in safe guarding your treasured media files. The card delivers twice the speed of ordinary microSD cards and offers the highest video recording performance available.
But wait, there’s more
In conjunction with the new SD card, SanDisk is offering the Memory Zone App (in beta) in the Google Play store, to allow users easy access to their files. You can view, access, move, organize and backup all of your files from your phone’s memory in one convenient place.
Also, SanDisk is releasing an OptiMem feature that gives Android users the ability to enhance their phone’s internal memory by automatically transferring some of their old photos and videos to their microSD card. OptiMem will continuously monitor the user’s mobile device memory levels, and inform you whenever the internal memory falls below a pre-determined threshold. You can read more about the card’s features here.
If you are worried about compatibility, as long as your device supports the microSDXC platform, then it will be able to support this card. Currently, you can purchase through Amazon and Best Buy for $199. As of today, Amazon currently has it listed on sale for $119.
