We’ve proclaimed our affinity for companies financially backed by Y Combinator as we continue to find them to be tools that simplify processes formerly made complicated. Today, we share with you Y Combinator backed YouGotListings.com which is a rental listings management software.
Founders Gordon Chen and John Li went about the business of putting together a solution for brokers and according to Leena Rao, the two realized that real estate isn’t just an industry you provide solutions for without knowing the business inside and out, so the two became licensed and actively practiced real estate for a year in Boston so they could pinpoint the exact needs of their software system.
YouGotListings offers distribution directly to brokers selected rather than direct fax or email one by one. The site is a full service tool for landlord offering listing syndication (to Hotpads, Craigslist and the like), credit checks, contracts and even consumer-facing websites for brokers.
An Android app has been released ahead of their iPhone app (which we say bravo to) that users can message each other regarding listings, search listings, and print property lists for clients.
YouGotListings is currently offered in Boston (where they say they have 75% of market share according to Rao) and Chicago with their eyes on San Francisco and Florida.
