Gmail changes the game with their makeover
It was recently announced that Gmail has undergone a major makeover that will roll out to all users in the coming days. The new design leans toward a minimalistic design with streamlined functionality. One of the new features is how email conversation appears- it is more intuitive and in better order, but there is a catch- each email in the chain features a small profile picture next to the sender’s name.
Just as profile pictures are helpful in social networks to allow people you are communicating with to get a better idea of who you are, adding a profile picture associated with your Gmail account puts you one step closer to making eye contact with the person you are emailing with.

Given the new conversation feature of email and its appearance, if you’ve been avoiding adding a profile picture to your Google account (most easily done through your Google+ profile even if you’re not planning on using the social network), it would behoove you to do so as we are noticing many blank faces in our email inbox.
