Reddit gets their independence, we’re not writing them off yet

Share

Many Realtors don’t know what Reddit is, and even fewer use the site, but it has recently come under fire for server failure more eminent than Twitter circa spring 2007.

Reddit’s hands were tied

Condé Nast acquired, then “starved” the site, according to Alex Wilhelm. “The Condé Nast acquisition nearly killed the social site as its new parent refused to buy Reddit new severs as its traffic far outgrew its hardware.”

Now, Cnet is reporting the media giant may be considering a Reddit spinoff wherein Reddit has more freedom and funding to operate more to their potential.

Despite announcement that Google has poached Senior Software Engineer Mike Schiraldi from Reddit, the independence from their investor will outweigh the loss of talent as their gears start turning again.

Now isn’t the time to write off Reddit

For those who have already or were planning on writing Reddit off, now isn’t the time. It is a vibrant community that is armed with knowledge they want to share and answers they want to give. Sounds like the perfect place for a Realtor to creep, no?
