Brand names jumping on the “Be Like Bill” bandwagon (eyeroll)

Why!?

If anyone every deserved 15 minutes of fame- and believe me that’s ALL he deserves -it’s Bill of “Be Like Bill” fame. Come on, certainly you’ve seen stickman Bill on Facebook and who-knows-where-else, spouting his thought-for-the-day and always ending it with “Be Like Bill.”

If imitation is the fondest form of flattery than Bill creator Eugeniu Croitoru must be thrilled to no end because Bill, or a reasonable facsimile thereof, is popping up all over the world (my personal favorite for what it’s worth is Jose).

But it’s not enough that Bill is browbeating us with his wit and wisdom. Now big name and not so big name brands are jumping on the bandwagon as well.

Reebok, Square, PizzaHut and more are all following the template. Love it or hate it Bill is here to stay…at least until something else comes along.

I’m not sure the Bill meme can be copyrighted. Apparently, Bill creator Eugeniu Croitoru is not making any money off Bill which is odd because the meme is so popular that Croitoro now has an assistant to help him manage the page traffic.

Well good on him for creating an icon and bad on us for perpetuating it!
