Vendor blog Geekestate (operated by Zillow Inc.) is the latest in a series of blog sites that have fallen victim to hacks via ad servers that lead to Google’s vicious malicious malware warning.
We broke the story on Mashable’s ad server Eyewonder that impacted popular sites like icanhascheezburger.com and others. We cannot tell if the problem is an ad server or a sponsored vendor link on the site causing the Google malware warning, and it’s not the first time we’ve seen it on Geekestate, and unfortunately we take the warning seriously enough not to go snooping around.

Follow up: It appears that Zillow.com servers are operating normally, including the Zillow blog itself at this time, although we have not tested Mortgage Market Place or other parts of site.

Weird: I’m not getting that warning at all.
GEB is not hosted on Zillow servers so this couldn’t impact any of the Zillow.com services. GEB is also not ad supported so it shouldn’t be an ad-server issue. Drew Meyers will be awake sometime soon and while he no longer works for Zillow, I’m sure he’ll look into it and figure it out. I have sent Drew this link.

PS David, as I said, it’s not the first time we’ve seen that warning on the site in recent months. there’s something there. I linked to the google post to help you sort it out and what it could potentially be.

Yeah, I am using chrome – still no warning. Weird. Earlier this year, when I was still at Zillow, the site was hacked and I did get the google warning.
PS … you heard I live in Jo’burg now, right?

That’s hilarious …and I didn’t know GeekEstate was owned by Zillow.
Of course it’s right there under the “About.”

I just tried the geekestate blog site. While Google Chrome didn’t pop up the malware warning, my virus service, Avast, did block a trojan horse. Looks like they still have the problem.
I still don’t get why people with the intelligence to create a virus can’t simply create good things instead of being malicious.
