Each year, Google tells the global story by putting together their annual zeitgeist video depicting the year’s trends based on search and news. Compared to the 2010 Zeitgeist video which featured uplifting music, this year offers a very emotional, moving depiction of the sentiment of the globe.

It has been a year of struggle, a year of unrest in most parts of the globe, a year of economic crisis, and while hopeful, it has been unquestionably one of the toughest years for many people.
