Ghost blogging platform now out, where do you find themes?
AGBeat recently covered the launch of the open-source blogging platform, Ghost. If you are set to use this new platform, you will soon be searching for a theme to complement your new blog.
The default theme is great, but if you are looking for some more customization, there are already loads of themes online you can use.
1. Theme Spectre
Theme Spectre gives you basic Ghost themes with customization options. Most of these themes appear to center around the idea that minimalist design is best because it is in keeping with the philosophy of the Ghost platform: just the bare bones and nothing else. While Theme Spectre does have several options: from classy and clean, to glamorous and fun; they all leave the margins relatively unscathed so you still get that minimalist feel.
2. ThemeForest
ThemeForest offers over forty choices to use along with Ghost. They have the greatest amount of pre-made themes available for Ghost users, including, Retina-ready and timeline enabling options. For users looking for a little something extra in their Ghost theme, you can find it at Theme Forest.
3. Polygonix
Polygonix offers fully responsive Ghost themes. The display on all screens, whether they are mobile or desktop; all themes support IE, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, iOS, and Android. You also get free updates for life when you get your theme from Polygonix. This is a good place to start looking because themes start at only $9.
4. Ghost’s Forums
If you are still having trouble finding what you need, try Ghost’s forums. If you have a little technical know-how, or coding knowledge, you will find several different tutorials on how to create and customize your own Ghost themes, so you can get exactly what you want. For instance, this thread contains many different options to customize your blog exactly the way you want it. Also, both of these threads will give you the relevant information you need to begin creating your own theme, as well as the template on which your theme needs to be based.
After its much anticipated arrival, it is hard to believe there are not more Ghost themes out there, but as more and more users begin using and enjoying Ghost, more themes will emerge. In the meantime, the themes mentioned above are enough to get you started customizing and enjoying your new blogging platform.
