Testing a phone from your web browser
Although most people fall into the iPhone or Android camp (or fine, the BlackBerry camp, we guess), the intrigue factor is high for the Windows Phone 7 with its streamlined design and simple navigation. Microsoft realized that not everyone is willing to hop in the car and go test drive a Windows Phone 7, especially if they’re a super geek and embarrassed to admit they’re interested in a Microsoft product in the first place.
In response to this and as a great public relations move, Microsoft launched an interactive browser-based demo of the Windows Phone 7 as seen in the video above. Built in HTML5, the demo is simple and quick and once you understand that it emulates the actual phone and it’s movements, including left to right swipe, you are shown how quickly you can get everything done, plus it uses huge fonts which is not only sexy but easier to read than the traditional 10 point font of phones.
Although you can’t gauge the slick feeling or the weight, try out the online demo of the Windows Phone 7 yourself and tell us in the comments if it has you thinking about a Windows Phone or if you’re sticking with your current smartphone.
