What is Your Plan?

Plans

I don’t have a plan.  I make a business plan every year, and I create a budget and a marketing plan.  I even have a plan for recovery if my computer fails.  My blogs are backed up and I have a copy of my web site. I have a spare phone that I can use if mine should break.

There is one thing that I don’t have a plan for and it makes the rest of my plans useless. I am a sole proprietor and I work alone, not on a team.

On the job injuries

If I were to become injured on the job I don’t have a plan for how I would continue my business or how I would earn an income if I were to become disabled for a few weeks or months.  Since I know that nothing bad can happen to me it has not been a concern.

Last week I fell on the ice while on the job. It was a hard fall and I was injured but it could have been far worse and I am lucky.  I am still able to do my job but it is painful, tiring and slow at times.   If there was another way I wouldn’t be spending as much time on my feet.

I slip, I fall I am unemployed

This post doesn’t supply any answers or make any suggestions. I just want everyone to think about what they would do if they were temporarily disabled and unable to work. How would the bills get paid?  I hope everyone has a plan that is better than mine.  My plan is to work until I die and let someone else worry about it when I am gone. I am of course kidding, I don’t even have that much of a plan.
