bSafe app: “never walk alone”

So this morning, the parking lot at work was full and you had to park all the way down a sketchy residential street, and by the time you leave your desk, it’s dark out and there are no street lamps. You’re stuck and you have to walk alone. Last week, you had an appointment with a client that you had never met in person and you had to go meet them when no one else is around, and your gut isn’t sure about the location, but you don’t have a choice. Bipper’s bSafe app takes into account these situations and many others like solo kids walking home.

With the push of one button, you can alert selected predefined contacts that you are in danger and share your location. bSafe automatically sends a text message to the contacts with a link to a map with the user’s location, along with making one call to 911 or a personal contact of your choice. For non-emergency situations, the bSafe’s “Follow Me” feature lets selected friends and family members to walk with you by GPS when you are walking alone. It even gives users the ability to simulate an incoming call (to get out of a bad date or other event).

bSafe acts as a big fat SOS button

Whether exercising alone or walking in a shady part of town, you can do more than just call a loved one, not only can they walk with you by GPS as previously mentioned, the app opens up to a giant SOS button that can literally sound a siren alarm, and immediately sends an alarm to predetermined contacts.

There is a free version of the app, or to unlock all features, it is $19.90 per year, and the company offers a 50 percent discount for two-year subscribers who are only required to shell out $29.90. Some professions are substantially more dangerous than others, so the ability to not only keep in touch with the team or loved ones, but to never have to walk alone can save lives.
