The Zebra in Amazing Technicolor

Benn wrote a post about putting video into WordPress. I asked him a question, and he was generous enough to share the answer with everyone.

I have been working quite a bit with video lately. Some of it in Utterz, some in other places. I like the format for certain applications. It does, however, have certain limitations. I am going to be giving video a try over at RealEstateZebra.com, so I wanted to give it a go on AG as well. Just as on my personal blog, I will be doing video as a way to augment the text posts. I recognize that everybody learns differently, and I also recognize that people respond differently to video and written word.

This is just the first of what I hope will by many video posts here at AG. It should be interesting. Let me know what you think, since I always welcome comments and suggestions.

    Here’s another tip for you.

See how your column width is larger than the video’s width? Want to make the video fit the width of the column?

Change the width and height paramters of the code given by YouTube, but keep the same height:width ratio of 83.5%. Try a width of 450 and height of 375 and see how it looks.

I would suggest adding an .mp4 version as well. I am on my iphone right now…so I can’t view your video

That is a great idea. I may just go with mp4 in the future. God, how I wish there could be a standard internet video format. . .

Although, I think that YouTube is manually recoding all of their videos to mp4 for iphone access. If you search “realestatezebra,” you might be able to find them. There is a bit of a delay from posting to iPhone availability. Don’t know how long.
