Windermere’s strategic hire
Today, Geoff Wood, CEO of Windermere Real Estate announced that Scott Mitchelson, formerly Vice President of National Franchise Sales at Realogy Corporation, has joined Windermere as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Business Development. While it is not uncommon in the real estate industry to be a quiet game of musical chairs, this hire is a loud win for the Windermere executive team.
Mitchelson brings almost 20 years of franchising experience, both from a franchisee and a franchisors perspective. Mitchelson was appointed as the Franchise VP at Realogy in February 2011, prior to which he oversaw a team of Directors focused on growth of the Century 21 brand, building strategic relationships with key partners in various industries to build the “Office of the Future.”
Windermere says that in his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s growth strategy both within and outside of its nine-state footprint. “This is an exciting time in the real estate industry and Windermere is well positioned to take advantage of many opportunities,” said Mitchelson. “I am very excited to be part of such a great brand.”
“We’re incredibly fortunate to have someone of Scott’s caliber join our team,” said Windermere’s CEO, Geoff Wood. “Windermere has been lucky enough to weather the economic storm of the past few years and having someone like Scott to manage our growth will help us align with opportunities that best fit our long-term objectives and culture.”
