Wireless device charging
Developed by Fulton Innovative, eCoupled is a near-field wireless energy transfer technology based on the wireless energy transmission innovations of Nikola Tesla, providing wireless power transfer via inductive coupling.
The technology uses its wireless data transfer and authentication capabilities to identify compatible devices to be charged as well as their charge states and the most efficient level at which it should power the device, stopping when fully charged. It is not just for smartphones, it can be used for media players, laptops, game system or even power tools.
Now, you don’t even have to take your device out of a purse or bag, simply store it within proximity to the eCoupled installed charger which could be installed under a desk to make your desk a charger, or under a kitchen counter, a shelf, or any flat space which could hold your devices. The charger is perfect for the absent minded or lazy people who always have dead phones due to failing to plug them in overnight.
The eCoupled technology will be demonstrated at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in the Central Hall at Booth #14446.
