Driver hits wrong pedal, car crashes into a Vancouver real estate office

Wrong pedal

Vancouver Realtor, Laura Clarke recently got a call from her alarm company alerting her to a window alarm that had been triggered, to which Clarke assumed a newspaper hit the brokerage window, reports local paper, The Province.

Responding to the alarm, Clarke arrived at her offices to discover it was a ton and a half vehicle smashed into the front offices, destroying the office of her sister Brooke who was not (but Clarke laments that she could have been) in the office at the time, given odd hours Realtors tend to work.

Authorities determined it was an accident as the driver had been attempting to pull into a nearby parking space and hit the wrong pedal, sending the Chevrolet Cavalier crashing partially through a second wall before coming to a stop. Neither the driver or passenger were injured, according to a group of firefighters who had been nearby.

No injuries, team puts up humorous sign:

“I couldn’t believe it had happened,” Clarke told The Province. “Everything in the office was a write-off.”

The Cavalier has been removed and the window boarded up with the offices already back to operating as normal, with a sign stating “Team Clarke’s drive-through window was a smashing success.” Clarke has a good sense of humor about it, but is reportedly grateful no one was working at the time.
