Renting is the new black

Renting is the new black and we are currently experiencing the perfect storm for real estate investors, but given the climate of rising rents and diminishing vacancy rates, there will inevitably be overpriced rental units. The listings below may or may not be overpriced, but either way, they are the most expensive in their city – we looked at the top 11 largest metro areas in the nation and see a huge difference between the top rate in cities like New York compared to others like Houston.

Take a look at these eleven rental listings shown in order of the most expensive cities (wow, LA) to the least expensive – tell us in the comments what you think. Click any image to view more details and to visit the actual listing online for more photos:

1. Los Angeles, CA – $195,000 per month

2. New York City – $60,000 per month

3. Chicago, IL – $25,000 per month
