Google completing the circle
With Google’s rebrand, the launch of their social network, and integration of each service into the other for a complete, seamless Google experience, the company releases integration and features bit by bit, flexing their muscle over other social networking sites.
Over the next few days, Google will be rolling Google+ features into Gmail, allowing users to add to their circles directly from their email accounts and sharing any pictures sent or received directly from Gmail to Google+.
Now, when a picture appears in an email, you can view, download or share, and if you receive an email from a Gmail user who is also a Google+ user, you can add them to your Google+ circles from your Gmail and even see their latest status update in the right side of the email.
Additionally, Gmail is integrating Google+ into its contacts application as any updates that users make to their personal information on their Google+ pages will automatically sync up with the contact information you have for them in your Gmail contacts folder.
Gmail’s recent redesign saw mixed reviews, but most mainstream users are accepting the changes and moving forward, as many have used Gmail for a decade now. As the features of each service roll into one another, the Google experience is becoming more seamless and with its user base, it has a chance at being the long term contender in the social network arena over the flash in the pan options is stands next to.
