SlideShare launched in 2008 with $3 million in funding as a small time app that allowed LinkedIn users to embed presentations into their profile – now they are the largest content sharing network online, proving that a mega company can be born of lean funding, as they remain a small company that makes a huge impact.
The site says they see over 60 million unique visitors monthly and 3 billion slides are viewed every month with the average number of slides hovering at 19 per presentation. SlideShare has always appeared to be a company that is helpful and maintains a sunny disposition as shown in the infographic below – they get a chance to showcase themselves, but they still take the time to focus on the user and offer guidance on maximizing a presentation.
