Starbucks and Nike are hot on Facebook, but someone is much hotter

Facebook’s Most Engaging Pages

Businesses are flocking to Facebook in droves and big brands like Starbucks are best known for having the most fans. They offer coupons and insider information, not to mention a potentially human voice to brands Americans love and love to connect with.

Fashion is rising in popularity on Facebook, but are numbers of fans really the best metric to anlyze for success with any Facebook page? Maybe. Or, maybe engagement is a better metric. You can have ten million fans all you want, but if they never visit your page after “liking” it, the branding opportunity is lost immediately.

So, who is hot on Facebook right now? Is it Ashton Kutcher? Is it Starbucks? Is it Nike? No.

Religion is hot and no matter what coupons a coffee shop offers, it appears that the highest number of interactions is being won by religious Facebook pages with 40 percent of the top 20 most engaging pages on Facebook devoted to religion and religious pride.
