Wrap in Style
If you love giving gifts and are looking for a way to avoid the waste involved with traditional gift wrap, fabric gift bags just might be the perfect solution. Not only are they environmentally friendly, but they are completely reusable, oh so easy to use, and beautiful too. I love the extra bonus of being able to give a gift (a handy reusable bag) along with the gift!
Where to Find Them
Lucky Crow has some stylish and super cool gift bags available to choose from. They even have free gift tags that you can print out right from their website. Lagniappe offers natural fiber and recycled fabric gift bags. In addition to their holiday collection of bags, they offer a beautiful organic collection, wildlife collection, a kid collection and more.
Do It Yourself Project
Of course, if you have a sewing machine and some beautiful fabric, you can make your own. It is a perfect way to recycle clothing or other fabrics that have stains or other damage that make the items unusable but that leave plenty of fabric for repurposing.
Give a Gift to the Planet
Check out fabric gift bags and see if they work for your gift wrapping needs. Not only will you be giving a gift in a gift, but you will be giving a gift to the environment.

Nickie, good reminder and such a pretty way to give gifts. A couple of years ago my mom and I made some fabric gift bags and I love using them. They are great for those odd shaped gifts, too!

Great idea! Thanks Nickie! I’m sure I have some fabric around that could be recycled for this.

I’m infamous for my Gump style Christmas wrapping paper skills. They truly suck, all who receive them or see them laugh and point. This would be the unique thing that turns me from chump to champ. The angel is in details, no?
Thanks

What a great idea! I thought of something else as I was reading, you could attach a package of pot pouri to the gift, so they can use it in the bag after unwrapping…2 gifts in one.

This really is cool. One of my clients, Ecorations, has done a tremendous job with these re-usable fabric gift wraps. It’s a great way to save the environment and they are really stylish.
