No time to make an appointment?
I’ve been seeing my hairdresser for almost five years. She’s awesome and creative and we enjoy spending a couple of hours together once a month as she beautifies me. But, I’m not her only client, so her time books up fairly quickly and far in advance. If I had a first date tonight, I doubt she’d be able to squeeze me in and give me a new fancy ‘do.
All you need is a smart phone
That’s where The Glam App comes in. If I decide to go with a “Bombshell” ‘do (yes, that’s really a thing), then I could order one up right there on the app. I could choose my price range – based on the experience of the stylist I’m getting – and I’d have an appointment with that available stylist in mere moments. It would be a stylist I’d never met before mind you, but at least I’d be lookin’ like a bombshell by the time my date picked me up this evening.
Although we’ve been shopping like this for years thanks to the web and apps like Instacart and Amazon – I can have apples and dog food at my door an hour from now without having to get up from my couch! – on-demand services are a fairly new trend. Venture Beat predicted such at the beginning of 2015:
“Building apps and services for lazy people is one area the tech industry is quite good at… But next year is going to get even lazier.” They predicted a boom in the areas of food, home services, parking and even beauty.
Life augmented with a *real* easy button
Consumers like the ease, speed and convenience; and entrepreneurs might do well to take notice. No matter your expertise – personal shopping, family counseling, handy man or even – there’s more than likely an app for that. And if there isn’t an app dedicated to providing your service or goods with ease, make it so!
As an entrepreneur and a hair stylist, download The Glam App and see how to get listed. You might just make a life-long client out of a girl who just needs to look like a bombshell for one night.
